Nicole Shoucair
Nicole Shoucair is of Lebanese origin, born in San Francisco and lived most of her adolescent years in London, where she studied Fine Arts & Textile Design at Goldsmiths University of London. Following her marriage in 1993, she moved to Riyadh ,Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, Nicole was exposed to a new culture, and although found it interesting, she had difficulty in accepting the lack of basic rights of women, living in a male dominated environment. Although challenging, her 14 years in Riyadh were happy years. Nicole gave birth to 3 beautiful children, and also had a profound spiritual journey that changed her life. The time in Saudi also birthed the start of a new fashion business. Nicole runs N+D fashion with her sister and they represent several Western and Eastern Designers for the Arab nations.
N&D represent an array of high profile contemporary Designers and have
successfully placed them in exclusive outlets such as Harvey Nichols not
only throughout the Arab countries, but recently also in Europe.
Nicole also has a passion to work with children and did so during her stay
in Riyadh. She is a gifted and passionate teacher and communicator.
Nicole feels strongly about the Climb 4 Freedom cause. She explains, ” When I
hear about the horrific injustices of the slave trade it enrages me! God has
given us dominion over the earth, to love one another, but did not give us
dominion over other human beings, like a mere commodity! The buying and
selling of Human lives can no longer be overlooked or brushed aside. We all
have responsibility to make things right, and we can make a
difference.
